6. A228 Holborough Road – Proposed No Right Turn
KCC Highways are proposing to close off the turn off at this point. There are no objections from STC.
7. Adoption: Core Strategy Development Plan Document
This is in the Office for perusal.
Snodland Council has received information from Medway Council reporting that their housing strategy has been withdrawn.
8. Signs at Holborough Park
The Council has received a reply from Carl Jones at Holborough regarding the opening and closing times for the signs. The suggested times are: 8 am until 8 pm. Carl has several issues that need to be resolved and the Clerk will look into these, giving a copy of the Email to the police and also to see if dog bins can be put in there.
9. Snodland Riverside Project
Cllrs D Brown and B Garlick have had a meeting with Dr Andrew Ashbee, who is happy to research and reproduce photographs etc. Cllr Atkins suggested that before the information is used to apply for a lottery grant, it is shown to the schools to determine its educational value, and also to Leisure Services at TMBC.
The Committee had previously agreed in principle a sum of £250 towards the Historical Society’s costs for carrying out this research.
RECOMMENDED that £250 to be given to the Historical Society.
10. Surplus Land at Catts Alley
Planning consent has been obtained for 169 Malling Road . To proceed with this, agreement with the Town Council for a right of way over the land for access is required. Long term purchase of the verge from the Council is also requested.
The Clerk will contact the District Valuer and instruct Winch and Winch to act as the Council’s Solicitor in this matter. Cllr Atkins is concerned about the other surplus land at Catts Alley. The Clerk will contact Mr Robert Beswarick and Arran Hill to see what is happening.
