VE Day 80 year Celebration 2025

VE Day Celebrations: A Day of Tribute, Community, and Remembrance

On VE Day, we had the honour of bringing our community together to celebrate, reflect, and pay tribute to the heroes of the past.

In the afternoon, we hosted a special afternoon tea for 70 residents aged 70 and over. Held at All Saints with Christ Church Hall, the event offered a warm and welcoming space for conversation, refreshments, and reflection. We are incredibly grateful to All Saints with Christ Church for generously allowing us to use the hall.

Later in the evening, in partnership with Snodland Town Football Club, we welcomed the wider community to Potyns Sportsground for an uplifting evening of music and the symbolic lighting of the beacon — a powerful gesture of remembrance and unity.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended and to the wonderful volunteers who made the day possible. Special thanks to:

2G’s Duo for donating your time and talent to keep our guests entertained with live music,

Snodland Cadets for your invaluable help and support throughout the day,

Snodland Town Football Club for hosting and supporting the evening event.

Simon Lingham for the lighting of the Beacon and the Fireworks.

It was a beautiful day of celebration for some truly remarkable individuals, and a moving tribute to all those who gave their lives to secure the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Lest We Forget.
